How to reach Piacenza Campus

AIRPORTS near Piacenza:

  1. MILANO LINATE - (65 km from Piacenza)
  2. BERGAMO -Orio al Serio - (110 km from Piacenza)
  3. MILANO MALPENSA - (120 km from Piacenza)

From any of the above airports, take a shuttle bus to Milano Centrale railway station, and then a train to Piacenza. The train between Milano Centrale and Piacenza will take about 50 minutes. Please check the train timetable.

From Piacenza Railway Station take bus no. 2 or 3 to Università.

The average taxi fare from the station to UCSC is about € 10 (during the day) and a little higher at night.

  1. Coming from the A1 Highway towards Bologna, take the 'Piacenza Sud' exit.
    Stay on the 'tangenziale' (ringroad) and follow for San Lazzaro/Università.

Health Service

If you are a national from either an EU Member State or an EEA country or you are of Swiss nationality, you should have a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) Italian acronym: TEAM, obtained in your home Country from you national healthcare authority. The European Health Insurance Card ((EHIC) allows to receive medical treatment in another member state for free, or at a reduced cost. A patient contribution is required for prescriptions, medical examinations, oral and dental care.

Non-EU residents must arrange International Health Insurance to cover any cost related to medical treatment and admission to hospital. If allowed by the Embassy/Consulate, they can also purchase health cover through the Italian National Health Insurance upon arrival in Piacenza. Please refer to Waitaly for further details. The cost is of €71 for 6 months or €120 for a year. Higher levels of cover are also available.

Note: Medical cover is compulsory when applying for the residency permit. 

Residency Permit

Residency Permit (Non-Eu students)

If you are staying in Italy for more than 90 days, you must go to a Post Office (see details below) within 8 days since your arrival in Italy (or any other Schengen country you’ve gone through preceding your arrival in Italy), in order to get the Yellow Kit (Residency Permit application forms) needed to get your Residency Permit (which is a living permit). The Kit contains a series of forms you must duly complete and return to the Post Office together with the following documents:

  1. Photocopy of passport (all pages - one page per sheet, only front),
  2. VISA documentation and any letter issued and stamped by the Consulate (make additional copies)
  3. A certificate of enrolment issued by UCSC and stamped by the Consulate
  4. Copy of health insurance coverage

Fill in the form (form 1, form page 1 to page 3) in capital letters with a black pen.
Do not close the envelope as the post officer will check all the documents inside.

When you hand in all the documents, you will have to pay:

  1. 70,46 € for the Residency Permit electronic card
  2. 30,00 € for the shipment tax
  3. 16,00 € for the revenue stamp (marca da bollo)

 

The Post Office will give you a receipt of payment, duly stamped. You must hand in a copy of the receipt to our International Office. Thep post officer will also issue a letter giving you an appointment to get your Residency Permit (electronic format). On that dat, you will have to bring 4 original passport pictures to the Immigration Office, together with the original documents of the copies previously sent.
You will find all the information regarding the procedure and the status of your case file, by inserting your username (codice assicurata) and password (codice ologramma) written on the Post Office receipt. www.portaleimmigrazione.it. Alternatively, you can also check the staus on the website of Polizia di Stato. Once you get your Residency Permit, make a copy and bring it to our International Office. Information will be also given during Welcome Days and orientation sessions.

Residency Permit renewal

If you are staying for a longer period than the validity of your Residency Permit, you will have to apply for its renewal 60 days before the expiration date:

  1. Fill in again form 1 (from page 1 to page 3)
  2. Submit the following documents: copy of your health insurance, copy of your financial statement, copy of your I-Catt self-declaration with final exams and grades;
  3. Ask the Students’ Service (Polo Studenti) to issue a certificate called “certificato per il rinnovo del permesso di soggiorno” which includes your grades and enrolment information. Submit the certificate as well.

When you hand in all the documents, you will have to pay:

  1. 70,46 € for the Residency Permit electronic card
